Since launching Lottie in 2015 we have been committed to being vegan and 100% cruelty free. It is a non-negotiable for us within all our products. As we launch new products every year, we want to ensure we are doing more and more to reduce our overall impact on the environment.
We are conscious of the footprint we leave on the planet, and that’s why we are sharing our social and sustainability commitments with you all. We know we are not perfect, but we always strive to do better and will continue to evolve as we go!
100% cruelty-free, always.
We have never tested on animals, and we are proud to say all our products are 100% cruelty free. We are PETA certified and never let animal testing happen at any stage of development for both products and ingredients.
On our journey to strive to do better, we are in the process of becoming double certified, by attaining the leaping bunny. So, watch this space….
All our new products are formulated to be vegan. Currently we are 90% vegan and reformulating the last remaining products to become vegan. We try to be as clean (when efficacy and safety isn’t affected) and are very open about the ingredients we use. You can see this with the relaunch of Lottie Nail, our polishes are made with up to 80% naturally derived ingredients including bio-sourced materials from sugarcane residue and cassava.
We know there is a lot of misinformation and confusion on what ‘clean beauty’ is. We always strive to be transparent and open. Always speak to our customer service if you have any questions or queries on the ingredients used.
We are currently working to introduce PCR (post-consumer resin) into our current packaging and use more recyclable materials for new and existing products.
- We are starting to incorporate at least 30% PCR where possible in all our new product launches or use more recyclable materials in packaging. You can see this in our 2022 relaunch of Lottie Nail. Our press on nails are; made from 94% of recycled plastic. We’re working very hard to update our existing products too.
- We avoid using excess secondary packaging like cartons and if we do, they are recyclable. We are in the process of updating our cartons to use 100% FSC card. This ensures the paper and board for our cartons is responsibly and sustainably produced.
We make sure to reduce waste when it comes to shipping our products to our customers.
- PR mailers are shipped in recyclable boxes with branding printed in soy ink. When possible, ecommerce orders are sent in recyclable packaging, and we are looking to incorporate in the near future more sustainable solutions when it comes to shipping.
